About Credit

Fortress’s Credit business was launched in 2002 by Pete Briger. Today, the Fortress Credit team consists of over 525 professionals and is focused on investing globally, primarily in undervalued assets and distressed and illiquid credit investments. We manage assets on behalf of many of the world’s most prominent and sophisticated allocators, including public and private pensions, sovereign wealth funds, large institutions and private clients.

Credit Capital Formation Associate and Vice President

We are seeking a Capital Formation Associate and Vice President to join our Capital Formation Group (CFG) based in New York to support our newly created Private Wealth Solutions (PWS) group.

About the Positions

The roles will report to the Managing Director of CFG in New York. The successful candidates will assist the sales team with various aspects of the fundraising process for prospective investors of the newly created Fortress Credit and Real Estate Business Private Wealth distribution effort. The individuals will work directly with the Credit and Real Estate Funds business’ CIOs, investment professionals, asset managers, accounting teams, operations, and sales teams in order to assist with preparing fund marketing materials and responses to investor due diligence requests. This is a new business segment for Fortress and as such, the positions offer significant growth and advancement opportunities.

The Credit and Real Estate Business Capital Formation professional will:

  • Assist Sales to develop and create Fund materials and coordinate the due diligence process for prospective investors within wire houses, independent/regional broker deals and RIAs
  • Assist Sales on qualitative deliverables such as RFPs and DDQs
  • Implement and maintain website for Fortress products focused on PWS
  • Develop white papers, market insights and educational thought pieces on alternative investments, private credit and real estate strategies
  • Assist with preparing content to educate the PWS community on the Credit and Real Estate Business platform
  • Assist in coordination of annual investor meetings (AGM) including planning and creation of materials

The ideal candidate will have: 

  • A bachelor’s degree from a top university with a strong academic record
  • For the Associate, at least 2-3 years of experience and for the Vice President, at least 5-7 years of experience within alternative investment industry or financial services industry (e.g. investment banking / capital markets)
  • Strong experience developing educational narrative on complex topics within alternative investments
  • Strong graphic design experience to create presentations and educational thought pieces
  • Experience developing websites
  • Digital marketing experience a strong plus
  • Credit and/or real estate experience a strong plus
  • An understanding of broad financial markets and indices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and desire to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment

The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $140,000 and $170,000.

The base salary range proposed for this role has been set forth to comply with local law, but salary is only one element of the total compensation for this role. The base salary range suggested above does not include compensation elements such as bonuses, overtime and deferred cash (each of which are applicable in certain roles), benefits, perquisites, and company contributions to employee 401(k) accounts. Such other pay components often result in total compensation materially exceeding base salary for a particular role. Total compensation as well as base salary for a role depend in part upon individual performance, years of service, experience, geographic considerations, the performance and the needs of particular business units, company performance, and general market conditions.
