About The Position

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join our Credit Operations IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the business processes within Operations and Credit. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various asset classes, investment accounting systems, reporting calculations, and workflows of a credit hedge fund. The role requires the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with key leads in these areas, as well as the technology team supporting them.  We currently use Wall Street Office as Portfolio Management tool.


Responsibilities:


Day to Day

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of operations and accounting business processes to identify requirements for new projects and enhancements
  • Effectively communicate software iteration timelines to business teams, in collaboration with development teams
  • Efficiently manage software development and support tickets in Azure
  • Utilize effective application integration approach to work with both upstream and downstream applications for their data needs from Operations systems
  • Assist in developing data integration with external sources
  • Provide training and support to business teams during deployment of new products or services
  • Collaborate with support team to ensure overnight coverage of key processes and train them on evolving software products
  • Participate in quality assurance testing for releases, in coordination with our QA team
  • Troubleshoot application problems and provide support to business and downstream applications (L3 only)


Project Implementations 

  • Coordinate business analysis meetings  and prepare various artifacts needed to run an IT project
  • Design reporting solutions for the Wall Street Office application or similar credit software
  • Coordinate multiple IT teams to provide required data as projects dictate 
  • Convey business processes and business requirements to senior IT management  
  • Run product demos and proof of concept walkthroughs during software implementation cycles 
  • Extract application storyboards and detailed use cases from requirements conversations with business teams 


Skills / Requirements: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Finance (5-7 years in the finance field), serving in a Business Analyst role
  • Good understanding of Portfolio Management tools and Operations/Accounting business processes
  • Good understanding of the private loans investment space including key concepts such as principal, interest, and the marking process  
  • Excellent in using Excel
  • Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and SQL knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with mockup tools such as Balsamiq 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Excellent project management skills  
  • Excellent time management skills; required when juggling multiple high priority projects
