Portfolio & Capital Market Analyst – Real Estate Asset Management

Fortress’s Commercial Real Estate (“CRE”) Asset Management group seeks a highly motivated Analyst.

The Analyst will have a dual focus of (a) supporting the financing of the firm’s CRE debt investments (b) assisting with portfolio-level analysis for related funds. With regards to the capital markets, this role involves assisting in setting up repo facilities, structuring syndications, and evaluating and developing new and existing lender relationships for the firm. With regards to portfolio management, the role will focus on designing, implementing, and monitoring analytics to track key investment metrics for relevant funds and modeling the pro-forma impact of investment decisions and leverage facilities on fund performance. This candidate will provide support for monthly book/ valuation process, portfolio reporting, risk analytics as well as various analytical tools to Senior Management. 

Responsibilities Include:

• Evaluate and manage new and existing lender relationships
• Assist in syndications and setting up repo facilities on new and existing debt investments  
• Model the pro-forma impact of leverage facilities on fund performance
• Help with development of a lender database
• Portfolio management tasks including tracking various reporting and analyzing fund performance
• Coordinate periodic reports and tracking of reports that go to senior management.
• Support the analysis of investment track record
• Work closely with Business Analyst to support Asset Management system and maintain various financial models
• Assist with special projects for senior management including gathering data, spreading numbers, formulating analytics, and explaining trends and results
• Assist with the implementation of new policies and procedures for CRE Asset Management Group including automation best practices

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, business analytics, real estate, or related field
• 2 years of finance, accounting, or real estate investment management experience or related internship experience
• Familiarity with key concepts in finance, real estate, and reporting a plus
• Very strong analytical and quantitative skills
• High proficiency in financial modeling and Excel
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to multitask whether working independently or as part of a team
• Strong track record of delivering accurate and timely information and reports
• Strong organization and time management skills
