About the position
Fortress Investment Group is seeking an Associate to work on the asset management team and will be responsible for monitoring illiquid corporate investments which will be mainly equity oriented. Investments will be varied across sectors. 

Responsibilities:
• Oversee, track, and report on performance of investment from initial closing through exit.
• Review each investment at inception/closing and coordinate with in-house teams (Operations, Accounting, Legal) to ensure the investment has been booked correctly into the various systems
• Monitor each investment to ensure compliance with the legal documents
• Analyze monthly reporting and have discussion with management teams. 
• Identify potential compliance issues and risk and determine action plans to mitigate risk.
• Assist in the review and negotiation of amendments and restructuring
• Determine monthly fair market values for each investment, prepare valuation memos and work with third party valuation agents to confirm fair market values.
• Assist in establishing and monitoring key performance indicators for the companies in our portfolio. 
• Develop monthly asset management reports and other ad hoc reports as required.
• Provide financial performance/investment updates at the monthly asset management meetings or more frequently if required.
• Prepare investment committee memo to support all follow-on investments and material transactions through an ultimate sale of the business
• Work with the investment team and head of the asset management group to determine and implement the appropriate action plan to minimize downside risk and maximize returns, which will include interactions and negotiations with borrower(s) and/or owner(s), financial advisor, banker, and legal counsel.

Requirement:
• A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics or related major. 
• At least 3 years of corporate private equity or private loan portfolio management experience.
• Experience in out/in court restructurings is a plus.
• An understanding of analyzing financial statements and reviewing legal documents
• Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
• Strong analytical abilities and negotiating skills
• Demonstrated strength in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
