About Credit

Fortress’s Credit business was launched in 2002 by Pete Briger. Today, the Fortress Credit team consists of over 500 professionals and is focused on investing globally, primarily in undervalued assets and distressed and illiquid credit investments. The investment team, led by Co-CIOs Pete Briger and Dean Dakolias, has a long and established track record investing throughout a number of credit and distressed cycles around the world. With over 100 professionals dedicated to asset management in 14 geographic locations, the Fortress Credit team also has the experience and expertise to manage and service assets with operational complexity.

About The Position

We are looking for an exceptional analyst to join our expanding Structured Products team.  The Fund will invest long and short throughout the capital structure through a disciplined, bottoms-up, and credit fundamentals investment process.  The team will look to invest in securities and loans backed by residential and commercial real estate, corporate debt or asset receivables.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing new investment opportunities and asset managing existing positions
  • Create transaction analysis, summaries and investment memorandums for recommendations to the Investment Committee
  • Maintain contact with Wall Street banks about prospective investment opportunities
  • Design and maintain monthly portfolio reports including collateral and deal performance, cashflows, pricing, liquidity and volatility
  • Test portfolio compliance testing and assist senior management in identifying suitable sale candidates and reinvestment opportunities
  • Review  portfolio prices and work with broker-dealers and pricing groups to ensure fair valuations
  • Create and maintain databases to track market activity, trends and research


recommendations to the Investment Committee
? Develop and maintain financial models of current and prospective investments
? Create and run valuations and models on transactions including, but not limited to:
RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, ABS and CDOs
? Maintain contact with Wall Street banks about prospective investment opportunities
? Design and maintain monthly portfolio reports including collateral and deal performance,
cashflows, pricing, liquidity and volatility
? Test portfolio compliance testing and assist senior management in identifying suitable
sale candidates and reinvestment opportunities
? Review portfolio prices and work with broker-dealers and pricing groups to ensure fair
valuations
? Create and maintain databases to track market activity, trends and research

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Intex and their functions
  • MS SQL Server or a similar database a plus
  • Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Excel
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated experience in financial modeling and projecting cash flows
  • Strong grasp of capital structures
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities with accuracy and thoroughness
  • Self-Motivated with the ability to work off of general instructions while producing a thorough end-product which has been expanded upon the candidate’s own ideas
