Fortress is seeking to add a talented Payroll Associate to the Human Resources team reporting to the Payroll Manager. 

The Fortress payroll team is responsible for processing approximately 70 US and global payrolls across multiple pay cycles and payroll platforms.  The team processes all salary, bonus, equity, and non-cash payments for over 1,000 employees worldwide.  

The primary responsibilities will include:
Processing monthly payrolls using Workday
Processing special payments, new hires, terminations, etc. 
Reviewing offer letters and termination agreements to ensure all information has been entered into HR system and payments are processed timely and accurately 
Ensuring all new hire information and documents are provided
Producing accounting reports and information needed to create journal entries 
Partnering with accounting department and responding to questions regarding payroll related issues 
Creating and providing monthly and ad-hoc reports for various departments 
Reconciling earnings variance (current vs. prior payroll) 
Calculating and coordinating funding for all payrolls 
Reconciling and coordinating payment of payroll processing invoices 
Answering employee inquires
Provide support and documentation for various audit requests

The successful candidate will possess the following required skills/qualities:
Minimum of three years of payroll experience with proficiency in payroll, payroll accounting and tax and benefit laws and regulations 
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Human Resources/Business Administration a plus
Expertise in Workday is preferred
Proven ability to communicate, respond, and resolve issues as they arise among employees or vendors
Great attention to detail
Ability to exercise excellent judgment 
Flexible, self-confident team player
Highly motivated, quick learner
Ability to achieve successful results in a fast paced dynamic work environment
