Fortress’s Credit business was launched in 2002 by Pete Briger. Today, the Fortress Credit team consists of over 500 professionals and is focused on investing globally, primarily in undervalued assets and distressed and illiquid credit investments. The investment team, led by Co-CIOs Pete Briger, Dean Dakolias, Drew McKnight and Joshua Pack, has a long and established track record investing throughout a number of credit and distressed cycles around the world. With around 120 professionals dedicated to asset management in 14 geographic locations, the Fortress Credit team also has the experience and expertise to manage and service assets with operational complexity. The Credit Team has approximately 215 professionals allocated across the accounting, hedging, treasury, legal and support teams. Segregation of duties and internal controls are in place to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Fund’s books and records.
About the Position
The current opening is for a fund accounting professional in the Credit Hedge & Lending Funds accounting team in the New York office.
Perform monthly closing of books and records and reconciliation of in-house accounting information to the administrator, etc. for various funds
Review/ produce monthly reporting package of entity/fund balance sheet and income statement
Frequent communication and coordination with other Fortress teams (such as operations, treasury, tax etc.), fund administrators and external auditors
Assist supervisors on month end deliverables for investors and financial reporting packages
Assist or work on ad-hoc special projects as needed
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
2-4 years’ experience in related field
Public/Private company background preferred, focused on hedge funds / private equity funds
Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and prioritization capabilities
Works wells with others and thinks independently
Highly motivated individual who takes initiative and is excited to learn and grow
