Fortress’ European Corporate Securities team within the Credit Funds has an opening for an Associate to support a team of four investment professionals.  The team enjoys a broad investment mandate on event driven, idiosyncratic opportunities that exist in publicly and privately traded securities across the capital structure including distressed credit, debt financing, special situations and equity transactions. 

The Associate will:
Support the investment team on all aspects of the investment evaluation process with a particular  focus on investment models emphasising deep industry and company-specific research
Contribute to the generation of new investment strategies and ideas
Create flexible financial models, conduct market research, and interact with brokers, sellers, and advisors to evaluate acquisitions to determine valuation and project investment returns
Prepare investment memoranda to summarize investment opportunities for senior management and Fortress’s investment committee
Manage third-party due diligence processes, overseeing technical, valuation, and legal advisors
Work with the investment, legal and tax teams to determine and implement the appropriate legal structure for acquisitions
Perform credit analysis, asset selection, portfolio analytics, pricing and valuations
Manage the execution of third-party debt financings in conjunction with acquisitions; negotiate term sheets and facility agreements; facilitate lender due diligence
Participate actively in regular meetings with Fortress’s senior management team and investment committee to discuss acquisition opportunities

The ideal candidate will have:
Two to five years of experience working in private equity/ debt investments, corporate finance or investment banking. Previous experience involving credit markets is ideal
An undergraduate degree with grades demonstrating strong academic performance
Strong and concise quantitative, written and oral communication skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Proficiency in at least one European language in addition to English
Experience in process management and negotiations
The ability to work independently in a demanding environment
A high level of resilience and the ability to travel frequently
Strong stakeholder management skills
Good commercial awareness with broad market knowledge
The ability to provide resourceful solutions with strong analytical skills, creativity and logical thinking
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated a strong interest in credit investing
